Follow this routine and your water will stay clean, clear, and comfortable all year long.
Test Your Water
Use test strips or bring a water sample to our Littleton showroom for a free professional analysis. We'll tell you exactly what your water needs.
Balance the Chemistry
Adjust pH (7.4–7.6), alkalinity (80–120 ppm), and sanitizer levels. Balanced water is the foundation of a healthy, clear spa.
Sanitize Properly
We recommend a low-chlorine or mineral-based sanitizer system that keeps water safe without the harsh chemical overload.
Clean Filters Regularly
Rinse filters monthly and deep-clean quarterly. Clean filters are the single biggest factor in water clarity and equipment longevity.
Shock Weekly
A weekly oxidizing shock breaks down organic contaminants and keeps your water fresh and sparkling between full treatments.
Drain & Refill Quarterly
Every 3–4 months, drain your spa completely and start fresh. This resets dissolved solids and gives you a clean slate.

Water Care FAQ
How often should I test my spa water?
We recommend testing 2–3 times per week if you use your spa regularly. At minimum, test before every use and after heavy use or rain.
Can I bring a water sample to your store?
Absolutely — and it's free. Bring a sample in a clean container to our Littleton showroom and we'll run a full analysis and give you a personalized treatment plan.
What's the difference between chlorine and bromine?
Bromine is gentler on skin and more stable at higher temperatures, making it ideal for hot tubs. Chlorine works faster but dissipates more quickly. We'll help you choose the right sanitizer for your lifestyle.
How do I know if my water is out of balance?
Warning signs include cloudy water, strong chemical odor, foamy water, skin or eye irritation, or scale buildup on the shell and jets. Any of these? Call us.
